English Cream Golden Retrievers are still only referred to as Golden Retrievers by AKC. There is not a separate breed category for them. However there are certainly some major differences in the general look of an English Cream versus an American Golden Retriever. English Cream's generally have a more prominent block shaped head and square muzzle. They also have the trademark beautiful "white" or "cream" colored coat. One other noticeable difference is the pigment of their skin has a black tone making their nose, and eyes stand out especially against their light fur color.
As far as personality, overall health and breed standard would all be identical to an American Golden Retriever. Golden Retrievers are loyal, loving, playful, and extremely smart! There is surely a reason the Golden Retriever has been one of the most popular breeds for years. You can check out the breed standard on the AKC website and read more about the history and origin of this amazing breed! If you choose to add a golden to your family I assure you that it will not be regretted! http://www.akc.org/breeds/golden_retriever/breed_standard.cfm
